Our Story:
Starting out as a skit on The State News, Coaster has developed a cult following, supported by the East Lansing public and students of Michigan State. The band quickly found its footing through a shared love of indie melodies, rock energy, and creating an atmosphere that feels both intimate and electric.
From their earliest shows, Coaster gained momentum the grassroots way—playing house parties and DIY spaces where their “backyard feel” became a defining part of their identity. That same energy has carried into larger stages, including Dublin Square, Harper’s Brewpub, and Mash in East Lansing, where the band has continued to cultivate its audience and reputation. Coaster was recently featured on WKAR’s Streetlight Sessions, where Michigan artists perform original music beneath the glow of a single streetlight.
Coaster bridges indie rock edge with pop accessibility, delivering original songs that are lyrically memorable and musically upbeat. Their live sets emphasize connection and atmosphere, turning every performance into a shared experience.
As of now, Coaster is focused on developing new music and bringing its signature high-energy performance style to broader audiences. The band is quickly establishing itself as a standout act in Michigan’s emerging indie scene.
